The first article I read titled “30 Amazing Color Tools Every Creative Needs to Try” goes into how important and challenging color is in your design/project. Having the right color in your design can have impact on your design. Next they discuss the important of color theory. Using the right color theory and color combinations is important. This can send the right message when designing your website. This step can often be overlooked leading people to have negative feelings when viewing your site or leave your site all together. The article continues on to discuss how to use the color theory, color wheel, and the importance in the three color groups: the primary colors, the secondary colors, and the tertiary colors. They continue to discuss how you should pick related colors to have them work effectively. The importance in choosing the right colors was highlighted next. This was all about how different colors have different meanings and association. It is important to pick colors that represent you or your brand. Similarly it goes into the important of color combinations like avoiding colors like Red and green unless you’re going after a Christmas theme. This same idea applies when combing colors that work together well together for a brand like maybe a sports team. You also need to be careful not to add too many colors to where it looks overwhelming. The article finishes by listing and briefly explaining 30 different online color tools. The list included some names like ColorSnapper 2, Coolors, Adobe Color CC and Paletton.

The next article I read “The 11 best color tools for designers” was much briefer and highlighted how designers take color very seriously and just how important it is. They also mention the impact it has when building your site, and what it means for when people view it. The Article finishes out by highlighting 11 different color tools you could use. This article also mentioned ColorSnapper 2 and Coolors. The biggest difference in these two articles was the amount of information they offered. They both made the same point when it comes to picking color, you need to do so smartly because it has a huge impact. After reading through the numerous different color tools out there. I think as web designer I would use Adobe capture CC. Outside of using and becoming more familiar with adobe products in class I like the features offered from this tool. I think that being able to turn any image into a color palette is really helpful to be able to match colors closely to the actual image you’re working with. Another nice feature to the Adobe capture CC is that it is able to be used on a mobile device. Most everyone these days are constantly on their phones so being able to access this from my phone while on the go is a nice option. If you’re already familiar with other adobe products the app works great with their other products like Photoshop and illustrator. That said there are a ton of great options to explore.
