Some may argue that squeezing an entire site onto one page sounds like a bad idea however there are some benefits to it. The one page layout makes sense when working with some small scale designs. Some websites often times add unnecessary clutter. Aside from the obvious benefit of packing everything into one page some other effective uses of a one page layout website are. Clearly defined sections, with a lot of information this needs more attention on the way it is formatted. Big header Elements, These are important in helping capture a reader’s attention. Custom scrolling content, one page layouts tell engaging stories with their use of custom transitions. Portfolios Landing pages, and brochure websites are great examples of when a one page layout is useful. The one page layout is simple enough that it allows for enough information to be displayed. When creating a brochure website often times simple info like photos and contact information is all you need and this layout is ideal. https://www.a2hosting.com/blog/one-page-website/

One benefit of using the card layout is that it hold all elements such as text, rich media, buttons and more. This layout can adapt its size to that of different devices and screens which is great when switching from a laptop to a mobile device. There is a more personalized user experience that is clear, balanced, attractive simple deigns and stylish with good usability. Designers also take into consideration user habits and aim to make the layout work across several devices. It offers increased space utilization, compared to a traditional list you can display more content by sliding horizontally. If you were using a traditional layout the user would need to keep scrolling down vertically to get more content and the content displayed is very limited. It works great with mobile platforms as displayed through apps like Instagram and Pinterest. https://www.mockplus.com/blog/post/card-ui-design . I think that both of these specific layouts have their own unique effectiveness. I like the card layout when it comes to the adaptability on screen sizes, especially when you consider switching from mobile devices to laptop screens and monitors etc. The card layout also allows for a better user experience. I also realty like the simplistic approach that a one page layout has to offer. I agree a lot of the points that were made about how when creating a page it really forces the creator to focus on formatting. I think that it is very useful when making a website that involves information that would fit on that page. As long as you don’t get carried away with content then this seems like a great option. Overall I believe that both the card layout and one page layout have their own effectiveness. I believe it is more of a personal preference or situational to what your content or branding is on when and why you might choose one over the other.
