Three websites that require me to enter my personally identifiable information are the Pennsylvania Fish and Boat Commission, Snapchat, and Ticketmaster.

One website that I use that requires me to enter my personally identifiable information is the Pennsylvania Fish and Boat Commission https://www.fishandboat.com/Pages/default.aspx. I usually only enter this information once a year when purchasing a fishing license. They require information like your name, address, date of birth, phone number, email, home address, height, eye color as well your driver’s license number or social security number. I’m a big time fisherman so having a fishing license is a must for me. Knowing that the PA fish and Boat Commission have all this personal information about me does not bother me. The information is unique to my license so it makes sense that they need it not to mention they can use the data to better understand how many people are out there fishing and the demographic such as age and counties. After reading through the privacy statement https://www.pa.gov/security-policy/ any of my concerns about entering this information are taken care of.

Another website I use that requires me to enter my personally identifiable information is the social media company Snapchat https://www.snapchat.com/. Snapchat doesn’t require quite as much personal information. However I still entered my name, my date of birth a phone number, email address not to mention as I share my account to gain friends I make myself more public. Knowing that the company has this Information, and that I post pictures and information that others could potentially access does not bother me. I know that it is a risk, but I feel the benefits and enjoyment I receive from using Snapchat outweigh those risks. Looking through the privacy policy of Snapchat https://www.snap.com/en-US/privacy/privacy-policy/ I still feel comfortable using it and don’t have any concerns. Everything is laid out very clearly and their team takes your privacy very seriously. Despite the potential risks I do feel safe continuing my use on Snapchat.

Ticketmaster https://www.ticketmaster.com/ is another website that I enter personal information on. I enter this type of information more often than the above two websites as I frequently go to concerts and sporting events. The type of information that I enter when using ticketmaster is my email, my name, my debit card information, home address, and my phone number. Entering my debit card information is probably my only concern, but I do online shopping quite a bit. I feel that my information is being protected when I do make a transaction. In the instance something goes wrong I can always cancel my card, and file fraud to handle it with my bank. This is why I don’t mind entering my information on ticketmaster since I have never had any issues using their service and the information is used so that I can make a purchase. https://help.ticketmaster.com/s/article/Live-Nation-Entertainment-Privacy-Policy-Your-Privacy-Rights?language=en_US. The Privacy policy of ticketmaster also puts to rest any concerns that I may have while using their website. They clearly lay out what information they collect and why as well as how you’re protected. These are just a few websites that I use that I enter personal information on but I’m comfortable doing so.
